All these people saying you should link to the original art work, yes it possible that you could have seen it before you made your art but the idea for a image like this is much much much older than what everyone else is calling the "original" idea. who are they to say the artist did something?

Besides, as the saying goes, "great minds think alike."

Yeah....some of the others have noticed it to and quite frankly I'm a little ticked. The first person comes up with this great idea that she DREW, and this person photographs it and sticks an oscar award on it so it gets placed in a magazine. *sigh* So many people on dev...artists everywhere keep getting jipped by those who already have a career.

Artist doesn't have to link to where he/she got the idea. It's a concept. He/she didn't copy the work, or even make one based on it. It's an entirely different deviation that happens to have a nearly identical concept.

Besides, if anyone really cared they'd look in the artist's comments anyway and see...

Also people are saying that it being a famous piece means it is especially important to link to it. This makes no sense to me. I understand what you're trying to say but sorry, whether or not a piece is well-known does not modify the necessity or lack thereof to link to it if it is similar to a work of your own.

You are the only one who actually makes sense concerning this.

And it's hardly as though the "original" is actually all that original.

I agree with previous posts, that credit should be given. Especially for such a famous piece. That drawing by genni has over 15,000 favs.
But this is quite a beautiful piece, nonetheless.

I like this one more than the original of genni, but I think both arts are too interesting concepts. I like more this one, because have a nice depth in the photos.

As others have mentioned, this is too obvious. You should mention this drawing in your comment, as the resemblance is too much for it to be a coincidence.. [link]

You know, you could have at least given credit to where you got the idea from. It could have been a stretch that you didn't steal the idea if you at least positioned the polaroids differently. But come on, everything is the same about it except that it is a different person and it's photoshop instead of drawn.

I hope that people will at least see it in the comments that this wasn't a unique idea and go to the original piece.

The original piece was done by Genii and can be found here: [link]
